The first day of school!

Hi my name is Hailey and this is my blog. At home, I like to go swimming and I like to go to the beach. I also like to cook. I go to my friend’s house to do Art. I have 1 pet and my dog’s name is Max.  

Meet the Teacher day!

My favorite thing in school is reading,Think-o-Grams (brain teaser), and math. We do special chair days where get to sit on lawn chairs, wobble chairs, bucket chairs, exercise balls, a couch, the Surf chair, or a rocking chair.

My brother even came to be a mystery reader this year! He's in 5th grade!

Mrs. Evans lets us be "math teachers" during our lessons!

My favorite chair is the Star Surfer chair. We like to play Prodigy. We do student/teacher points where if the students are good they get a point, but if the students are making poor choices, the teacher gets a point. One of my favorite activities we’ve done at school this year is called Market Day. This is where we learned goods and services and I provided a good to Star Academy. My group and I made clay creations. We got 58 tickets!! It was so much fun, but it was really hot in the cafeteria.

My trip to South Lake Tahoe.  South Lake Tahoe is a rural community.

This is our hotel where we stayed.  It had a lot of plants and a koi pond with turtles in it.

We saw a bear outside our hotel. I wonder if he ever got his lunch?

We went to Taylor Creek visitor center and went on a hike on Rainbow trail. We saw rainbow trout and Kokanee salmon.

Can you find the Salmon.

Can you find the chipmunk?  Chipmunks blend into their environment.

This is a real natural beaver dam. This was made by real beavers but we didn't see any.

We enjoyed the lake and I made a rock maze.

We took a long hike to Eagle Lake. My Dad says this is desolation wilderness. Doesn't this mountain range look cool?

I made a rock marker to mark that we were going the right way.

I climbed up my first rock face. It was FUN!😄

We finally made it to Eagle Lake. It was a long hike. But it was much faster going back.

Doesn't this mountain look pretty cool?

And Pretty Awesome!!

Wouldn't you like to live in Lake Tahoe?  Not me, but I enjoyed visiting.

This is my blog. I love to swim! My favorite thing is MINECRAFT and Think-O-Grams. I like math. We do chair days. I like to play and go fishing. Here is a picture of me with Mrs. Evans' surf board and fish live in the ocean where you surf!

I used to have 2 fish but they died. I can kick balls really hard and high. I like soccer! What is your favorite part of school?

I like to cook. I used to have fish and I got 2 from the

state fair and 2 from Petco so I used to have 4 fish.

They all died.I have a iPad . I  play Minecraft and watch

Meet the Teacher Success!!

Wow, what an amazing Meet the Teacher day to kickstart our 2015-2016 school year! We had a great turnout of new, smiling Second Grade Surfers!! Would you like to learn a little more about Mrs. Evans? Click here to read about my wonderful family and my educational career.

We labeled school supplies (I'll help you Monday if you weren't at school), we wrote about what your favorite observation was in my classroom so far, and also students took a 2015-16 Back To School Star Surfer Survey. Always a student and teacher favorite...the library! We have so many books they won't fit in the picture!

Last year students were challenged to read 40 books. This year...I challenge you to SEVENTY books by the end of the year! Can you do it? Here's our wall to prove it!

Saved the best for last...my real SURF BOARDS from San Diego (we have 2 in our room). Do you like the beach? I hope so because you're going to be a star surfer for the next 10 months! We are going to have a blast together. Get ready for a wild ride surfing into second grade!
